WBIR recently reported on Dollywood’s new-for-2019 expansion plans, which have been confirmed by the Pigeon Forge Planning Commission. Plans include eight new attractions, a brand new restaurant, and more.
The plans involve an expansion beginning adjacent to Mystery Mine and wrapping into the construction site behind Thunderhead.
The blueprints showcase a variety of new attractions, including a large building and the clearance envelope for a potential roller coaster. The shape of the track layout is very similar to Denmark’s Orkanen at Fårup Sommerland, a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster. All credit for three photos below showcasing Orkanen’s plans overlaid with Dollywood is to PigeonForgeTNGuide.
Plans from the side view show the Vekoma coaster’s clearance envelope as well.
A pendulum appears to be in the works as well, thanks to the WBIR plans revealed.
