Six Flags Great Adventure today announced virtual reality for Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, the world’s tallest drop tower. Riders will plunge down 41 actual stories and 100 virtual stories off the edge of a helicopter in Drop of Doom VR, set to make its debut to riders 13 years of age and older beginning May 5.
Six Flags Great Adventure has not yet released an animation for Drop of Doom VR, but the experience will be similar to that on Drop of Doom VR at Six Flags Great America, pictured above.
Drop of Doom VR will feature:
- A 360-degree rotating view high above massive city skyscrapers that are under siege by enormous spiders;
- A high-intensity gun battle against a giant arachnid, spewing baby spiders that virtually crawl all over the rider’s body;
- A thrilling 10-second fiery plunge straight down at speeds up to 90 mph between towering skyscrapers;
- The final showdown with a spider the size of a van, teeth-gnashing and in full attack mode.
