Kings Island has just announced Mystic Timbers, a 109 foot tall, 55mph and 3,265 foot long GCI (Great Coasters International) wooden coaster coming in April 2017.
This groundbreaking wooden coaster will feature 16 airtime moments an extreme s-turn, a tunnel and a 95 foot drop.
The park boasts 1,275 riders per hour on a 12 car GCI Millennium Flyer coaster train with an amazing lead car.
According to Kings Island’s General Manager Greg Scheid, Mystic Timbers is “Themed to an area surrounding a lumber company becoming overrun by a mysterious medusa-like overgrowth of vines as nature reclaims its land”.
The most peculiar part of the announcement, however, was the Mystery Shed located at the end of the layout. The park seems to be keeping the inside of the shed a secret with not much of a clue as to what’s inside. What do you think is inside?
Kings Island will also break 2 new records with the addition of Mystic Timbers: Most wood track at one park (18,804 feet of track), and the most wooden coasters at one park (5).
